Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps Benefits
- Lower Running Costs – Heat pumps are cheaper to run than systems based on combustion (Gas / Oil). The more energy efficient the systems are, the greater the long-term savings on energy and carbon footprint. This friendly environmental investment can help you save money.
- Less Maintenance – Heat pumps require on average less repair work than a combustion system, providing the annual servicing is kept up to date.
- Carbon Emissions – Heat pump systems reduces your carbon emissions as well as having an efficient conversion rate of energy input to heat. Heat pumps will typical be 300-400% efficient. Therefore, for every 1kW of energy put into the heat pump, 3-4kW of heat will be produced.
- Long Life Span – The life span of a heat pump can be up to 50 years. However, the typical life span is somewhere between 15-20 years. They are extremely reliable and a steady source of heat.
- RHI Scheme – There are two different types of Renewable Heat Incentive Schemes. RHI (1) Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive which homeowners, self builders, social and private landlords are eligible for grant funding. RHI (2) The Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is open to businesses, organizations and industries that are eligible for grant funding.
